I learned so much about wild camping solo over the last few years. I’ve wild camped the entire South Downs Way and also many sections of the South West Coast. When I first started wild camping here in the UK I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and would just wing it, but over the years I’ve figured out what the best gear and kit list is as well as the rules and regulations.
In this video, I go over my top 5 tips for people looking at starting wild camping. I talk about the best cheap tent, the OEX Phoxx 1 and the new tent that I use, the Zpacks Solplex. I also go over how to find a good wild camping spot on the trail and how to avoid getting caught as much of the UK national trails cut through private property.
